black joy archive v.iii invited individuals to gather across four workshops held throughout the spring of 2025. Together, we shared, ideated, and mapped how joy persists despite and within the terror, pain, and unrest of our social now. In each workshop, attendees were asked to respond to the prompt —
how will your black joy persevere into our future unknown?
and create a visual response. Indivuduals utlized their personal images, objects and writing to create images. Select workshops featured a risograph printing session, in which all partipants had the opportunity to print and swap their makings.
Big thank you to Secret Riso Club, The Black Zine Fair and The Ujima Project Boston for hosting workshops, and thank you to all the people who came out to share space and make together.
